Today has been a full day of activity. We started out by going to the local flea market. They have this every Saturday and is a great place to shop for everything from clothes and toys to antiques and housewares. Jenny found lots of cute clothes but all of the things I was interested in were far to big or heavy to carry around for the rest of the trip. They set up all around the city square so there are lots of things to look at.

The picture above shows my sister Judy and her 2 daughters Carly and Lucinda,
After stashing away our finds back at the house we headed off to France to do wine tasting in the Alsage region. My sister lives about 15 minutes from the French border and they knew of several nice towns to visit.
One of them is near a stork preserve and storks can be spotted along the road and often create there nests on the rooftops of homes in the area. You can tell I was fascinated by them by the number of pictures of storks and nests in the pictures below. Also, Al, I saw my first castle today and it is in one of the pictures.

In one of the small towns we stopped, we found that it was the village where Pope Leon IX was from and there was a beautiful old church built in his honor there.

After this it was back home for a nice dinner of local cheeses and fine French wine! A great way to end any day...
Great pics Carolyn - especially the one of the castle on the hill! If I were a member of an invading army, the hike up the hill would be enough to deter me! Al
